Brand New Day

Steve's comments:

Today's comic features Felicia Day, who replaces Tom Hall in the lucite.

For those of you not familiar with the running joke, comic Steve collects gaming artifacts, in much the same way that I (the real-world Steve) do. But comic Steve goes a step further, and also has a slab of lucite that contains someone he thinks is really awesome. Before you judge, be honest: wouldn't you do the same if you could? If the answer is no, then this is the wrong webcomic for you to be reading. Shoo! Go and read some other webcomic.

Okay, now we have only the cool people left reading -- not to imply that Family Circus isn't cool -- here's the problem. Tom Hall makes games. Awesome, awesome games that make me happy. And what makes real world Steve happy makes comic Steve happy. Both of us want to play more of his games. So out he comes.

But someone needs to replace him. And who better to assume the position of honor in the lucite than... Felicia Day? Her contribution to geekdom is beyond question, and she's a heck of a lot easier on the eyes than Tom is. She even seems to have a cool evil twin, and that's just... well, cool, as everyone knows. So welcome, Felicia! Please enjoy your stay.

One other thing: a number of people have suggested that carbonite would a better choice for preservation. I disagree. Lucite has a number of advantages over carbonite:

1. Lucite is about half the weight of carbonite.
2. Lucite lets you see the subject from any angle. Carbonite only lets you see the subject's front.
3. Lucite lets you see the subject clearly. Carbonite makes the subject look like a metallic turd.

As always, thanks for reading!

And yep, Felicia is wearing her outfit from this.
