Brand New Day
Today’s comic features Felicia Day, who replaces Tom Hall in the lucite.
For those of you not familiar with the running joke, comic Steve collects gaming artifacts, in much the same way that I (the real-world Steve) do. But comic Steve goes a step further, and also has a slab of lucite that contains someone he thinks is really awesome. Before you judge, be honest: wouldn’t you do the same if you could? If the answer is no, then this is the wrong webcomic for you to be reading. Shoo! Go and read some other webcomic.
Okay, now we have only the cool people left reading — not to imply that Family Circus isn’t cool — here’s the problem. Tom Hall makes games. Awesome, awesome games that make me happy. And what makes real world Steve happy makes comic Steve happy. Both of us want to play more of his games. So out he comes.
But someone needs to replace him. And who better to assume the position of honor in the lucite than… Felicia Day? Her contribution to geekdom is beyond question, and she’s a heck of a lot easier on the eyes than Tom is. She even seems to have a cool evil twin, and that’s just… well, cool, as everyone knows. So welcome, Felicia! Please enjoy your stay.
One other thing: a number of people have suggested that carbonite would a better choice for preservation. I disagree. Lucite has a number of advantages over carbonite:
1. Lucite is about half the weight of carbonite.
2. Lucite lets you see the subject from any angle. Carbonite only lets you see the subject’s front.
3. Lucite lets you see the subject clearly. Carbonite makes the subject look like a metallic turd.
As always, thanks for reading!
And yep, Felicia is wearing her outfit from this.

Steve writes: Yep, it’s true, I really did back the Veronica Mars Kickstarter at the top tier, and I really do get a speaking role in the movie. This comic is making fun of the fact that some media outlets seemed to have the impression that I’m “not a fan”, which is 100% untrue. All

Steve’s comments: I came up with this idea at a dinner out with my wife. It literally fell from the sky into my mind like a hot stream of delicious gravy. All night, I couldn’t stop chuckling. When I got home I immediately sent the script to Ash. Seriously, how cool would a gravy satellite

Steve and I very much wanted to do a comic about the recent KISS concert we went to (also HOLY CRAP STEVE TOOK ME TO SEE KISS!!!) but nothing comically funny happened while we were there… well nothing that fit into a 4 panel comic, so we made up this one because we had been

This comic didn’t really happen. I have been meaning to write something to this effect for some time, but it never quite fell in to place until now. Steve and I have a LOT of differences in our personalities and tastes (and he’s also much, much smarter than I am) but there are some core

Once again, I’m going to throw up a bit of a disclaimer on this comic. I am by no means trying to speak for ALL women here. I do not believe every single girl is catty enough to think evil thoughts about their friends when they get a pretty dress/ lose some weight/ get a

This comic is pretty self-explanatory. I wanted to do a comic about going to see the new Batman movie but I didn’t really have any funny stories surrounding it. This situation happened to me years back when I was trying to hint to a friend of mine that I wanted to go see the Hulk

Steve’s comments: I wrote today’s comic about Pocket Planes, which I’ve lately been playing on my iPhone. It’s an addictive little game that has a great concept but has some very fundamental flaws. Many of these flaws have to do with the game’s bizarre economy and monotonous gameplay. But one gripe I have is that

Today’s comic is another one drawn by guest artist Zack Finfrock. It’s about… well, you can probably guess what it’s about.

Happy Canada Day, everyone! ***before you mention it, I am aware that there is a spelling error on the word “fourth” I am not in town right now and don’t yet have access to the master file, but it WILL be changed soon.*** This comic didn’t really happen per se… I was actually originally discussing

There isn’t much to say about this comic, it’s another strip based off of a real conversation between Steve and I. He did run over a nail a week or two back and we had a conversation over text that was very similar to this one (I think it may have ended with “well that
