New Comic: Office Fun
May 18th
So this comic had been sitting in the back of my mind for a while now, but every time I told myself “Yeah I’m totally going to draw that comic today” I thought of something else that was either less panels to draw or more topical at the time (Something involving star wars and dancing came up at one point.. I don’t clearly remember how though). Luckily, we here at MegaCynics have some wonderful guest artists we can call upon to help us out once in a while. Today’s comic is drawn by the very talented Zack Finfrock (you may know him as Twig in the webseries “Fallout: Nuka Break“). It’s also featuring another good friend of ours, Harrison Krix of Volpin Props (yeah, he made that bad-ass Portal Gun you all wanted so bad). Hope you enjoy this melting-pot of awesome
New Comic: Tired Brigade
May 16th
This comic was a duel-writing effort between Steve and me, and it has a very special guest star… wait for it… H.B. Duran! or as her twitter followers know her, @ggAngelThanatos! for those of you who don’t know her, she’s a lead editor for GirlGamer.com. I also have it on good authority that she’s pretty freaking awesome. Today she just makes a cameo as Steve’s Iron Brigade opponent, and she actually does play that online with him from time to time. And who knows? perhaps she’ll show up in future comics… dun dun DUN!
BTW, if you’re not playing Iron Brigade by Double Fine then you totally should be. (But only if you like driving giant mechs and blasting evil robots.)
enjoy the comic!
New Comic: A Penny Earned
May 14th
This comic is based off a true story (though I never threw my drink at Steve). A few months back I was impatiently awaiting the release of Batman: Arkham City for PS3 when I realized I couldn’t actually afford the $70 to buy the game. I decided that with the 3 weeks I had left, I’d actually have to cut my budget down to afford the game. I think I texted Steve about it and his reply was “Saving… that’s cute” which made me laugh pretty hard. I’ve always kept that comment in the back of my mind as a classic Steve-quote and I decided to finally use it in a comic
*side note* Steve ended up buying the game for me because he’s awesome
New Comic: Gauging Generations
May 11th
This comic is based off of my experience working at a body jewelry store for a few months (back in the days of retail). I realize that the term “gaugers” has just been accepted into common terminology now but it never ceased to irk me every time a 12 year old with a pencil shoved in their ear came into the store and started blabbing about their plans for “gauging” their ears. I know this is more of a personal shot at those kids and some people may not appreciate my point of view on the subject, but I’ve always wanted to express my thoughts on the subject so I figured this was as good a way as any.
New Comic: Yeah, He Bought It
May 9th
So Steve wrote this comic in reference to (I believe) a vacation he recently took with his family. Both of us are what you’d call “impulse shoppers” (apparently it’s genetic) and he isn’t the only one of us who has trouble saying no to high pressure sales unfortunately. I wasn’t there to witness the actual events but I can only assume he made it out of that vacation with as much poorly crafted crap as he could fit in his (and his family’s) luggage.
