So Steve wrote this comic in reference to (I believe) a vacation he recently took with his family. Both of us are what you'd call "impulse shoppers" (apparently it's genetic) and he isn't the only one of us who has trouble saying no to high pressure sales unfortunately. I wasn't there to witness the actual events but I can only assume he made it out of that vacation with as much poorly crafted crap as he could fit in his (and his family's) luggage.
