What They Say #9
Okay, although this comic is not a snap shot of a real event, it’s based off of many an instance that has happened to… well most of the people I know. Including myself. This isn’t so much making fun of douche bags who move in on perspective lovers when they know you’re interested, but making light of a sad truth about all the people involved (hey, if you can’t laugh about it, what can you do?).
In short, people should probably be more honest in these situations…. but who are we kidding? That won’t happen
….aaaaaand once again, this is a humorous observation from my point of view. I’m not trying to antagonize anyone specifically, I’m just making comics here.

That’s true. Many a time has a friend approached me thusly.

Do you really think that Pagz likes you, Ash?

I’m hoping that Ash is going to come in soon with “So this comic never actually happened, but…”
Really hoping this one’s not a true story.
Something about the art really sells it by the way.

Oh, man. Both people speaking here are in the wrong, so badly. Mr. Douche for stepping on his bro’s wings and Pagz for not having made a move and/or doing the Nice Guy thing after the girl in question (it doesn’t have to be Ash’s character, Pagz could have other female friends) instead of honestly and truly just being her friend.

That is totally against the Bro-code! Granted I know this has happened to me in the past& I believe I done a few times as well // Next time just go up& ask her, what is the worst that can happen?!

PAGZ TELL THIS TOOL WHAT YOU REALLY MEAN!!!!!! DONT LET HIM GET AWAY WITH THIS!

Ha haaa…I hope everyone in these comments comes to realize you can’t actually “lay claim” to a girl (or any person, while we’re on the subject).
It’s especially ineffective if the two of you have never talked about whether you might start dating each other.

I have been on neither side of this, and I’m thinking that’s almost just as bad.

Both these characters seem to have some problems.
Pagz needs to grow a spine to let that tool walk all over him, and the tool needs to grow a brain since it’s pretty obvious that comic-Ash is a lesbian.
Now let’s not all jump to conclusions and say that “art imitates life” but yeah…

Didn’t make a move, didn’t say anything when asked. Standard nerd double fail. Guy on the left has his bases covered and now has plausible deniability. Seen this all too many times.

If you ask me, “plausible deniability” is a concept which should never ever be part of asking somebody out.
